# The proposition bets

## Principle

In order to use the strategy of proposition bets, the stickman puts the players' bets in the centre of the layout. This technique consists in placing a bet on any given throw on number 2, 3, 7, 11 or 12.

## Payments

On certain tables, the payments can be made at a rate of 30 to 1 (winning 30 times the bet) or 30 for 1 (winning 29 times the bet). This difference between “to” and “for” is not insignificant.

Normally, when playing craps, the most profitable strategy is to ignore all the bets that are made in the center of the table, because the proposition bets are quite an efficient way to lose all your money.

## The types of bets

In the central zone, the players can notice different lines with different dice combinations. Those give the players the opportunity to place 5 types of bets:

### “Any seven” or “all 7”

It consists in placing a bet on a throw and on the result being a combination of 7. In any other case, the player loses.

There is a probability of 5 to 1, which represents 20 per cent to win, but the profit is actually equal to 4 to 1, which means 5 for 1. The casino also takes a margin, which reaches 16.7%.

### The “craps 11” technique

For this one, you place your bet on a single throw, on any craps (2, 3 or 12) or on number 11. The presence of letters “C” and “E” outside of the central zone indicates this type of bet.

The casino margin exceeds 10%. The chances to win are 8 for 1 (on craps) and 16 for 1 (on number 11).

### The “horn” bet

This is made on a single throw and the player wins when the result is equal to 2, 3, 11 or 12. This strategy is not recognised in the central zone, but it is the same system as the “craps 11”. The player must use 4 chips for 4 different bets.

The payment is at 16 for 1 (with number 3 and 11) or 31 for 1 (with number 2 and 12). The three other bets are lost and the casino margin is around 12.5%.

### Bets on combinations 2, 3, 11 or 12

This bet is placed on a single throw. The profits are 16 for 1 (with number 3 and 11) and 31 for 1 or 30 for 1 (on number 2 and 12).

The casino advantage on this type of bet is somewhere between 11 and 14%.

### Any craps

This consists in betting on one throw. The player wins for combinations 2, 3 or 12. In any other case, the bets are lost.

A space is dedicated to this bet, at the bottom of the central part of the table. The profits are 8 for 1 and the casino advantage is 11%.
