The hard way bets

The players have the opportunity to use the “hard way” bets on four results: 4, 6, 8 and 10. The players win only when the combination they placed their bet on is made with a pair.

For a combination of 8, the dice must display number 4 twice, which gives a “hard way”. If the combination of 8 is made of 5 + 3, it is an “easy way” and the player loses, in the same way as they do when number 7 appears.

The player puts their bet in the centre of the table and it is valid until it is resolved. For example, if the gambler bets on a combination of 8, the bet is not lost until the result is an “easy way” or a 7.

It is also worth mentioning that the “hard way” bet is the worst in the game of craps. The casino advantage is somewhere between 9 and 11%.
