Counting the cards
Online blackjack remains one of the most popular casino table games. Indeed, there is no better way to break the bank!
Counting the cards when playing blackjack will allow you to have greater chances to make the bank bite the dust. Let's see together what this is all about...
principle: a point system
Different card counting systems exist. They do not require to know all the cards by heart. Indeed, a point system is used for each card, and players can therefore follow the counting of points when cards are dealt by the croupier.
It is important to follow the cards one by one, as it is all about strategy and focus.
The probabilities to win evolve with each draw. The makeup of the shoe indeed changes with every round, thus influencing the bets different card counters decide to place.
The value of the cards
Each card is numbered from 2 to 10 according to its nominal value, i.e. the one that is displayed on its front. As for the face cards (Jacks, Queens and Kings), they are worth 10 points. The Ace is worth either 1 point or 11 points, depending on which strategy the player has chosen.
The vector: ratio obtained
Depending on the count, you get the quota of weak and strong cards still to be dealt. If it shows that there are more strong cards left to play, you say that the shoe favours the player. A counter who has followed the game can thus increase their bets because mathematically the cards are to their advantage.
The croupier will therefore “bust” (exceed 21) more quickly and is more likely to do so. Card counters can also have more blackjacks and start with bigger bets. Consequently, this does not give any guarantee to win systematically, but chances are still higher.
Conversely, when the count of cards is smaller, i.e. it is negative or equals 0, it is important to place a smaller bet, as the casino has an advantage over you in that case.
Las Vegas 21
The “Las Vegas 21” film is a perfect illustration of card counting... It stages card counting by several students who use this team method as a means to increase their chances to win against the casino. Several teams are put together for this type of ploy, in order to hide the fact that they are counting.
To recap the advantages of card counting: it allows a player to improve their strategy according to the potential cards left in the shoe, and to bet a higher amount when the latter is in their favour.
It is now your turn to use this technique to discover, if you are a beginner, or rediscover this fantastic card game and to beat the casino!
With this method, all you need to do is play. There is only one catchword: count!
